Margot Robbie Feels Like a Breath of Fresh Air in the Chanel No.5 Fragrance Campaign

Last month, it was reported Margot Robbie was to become the face and embodiment of Chanel No.5. Robbie replaces the French actress Marion Cotillard as the face of the iconic scent originally launched on May 5, 1921. Previous ambassadors of the legendary fragrance include Catherine Deneuve, Carole Bouquet, Nicole Kidman, and Gisele Bündchen. The wait for the official print campaign and Luca Guadagnino-directed video is finally over. In the flawless portrait shot, the Aussie beauty gazes down the lens of Chanel regular Karim Sadli. Robbie poses alongside an oversized bottle of the floral aldehyde scent, dressed in a tweed look designed by former Chanel creative director Virginie Viard. In the commercial, the Barbie actress is joined by fellow Australian Jacob Elordi. Throughout the 2-minute See You at 5 film, Margot and Jacob play the role of a pair of lovers, attempting to meet each other at 5 o’clock.

“Margot Robbie is gorgeous and looks like a supermodel. She is perfect as the face for the Chanel No.5 fragrance. The photo is perfection,” heralded MModa.

“I really like it. Margot looks stunning as always, and there’s a welcome freshness here because No.5 always been a very dusty old timey fragrance for me,” Marc10 shared.

“It looks good! Simple, timeless, chic and it evokes the ads of Carole Bouquet! At least she doesn’t look like an AI,” appreciated forum member Lola701.

Also very much a fan was Urban Stylin. “Love it. The pop of color and simple styling reminds me of 90s ads with supermodels,” he noted.

“The print campaign imagery just seems so beautiful in its simplicity, that I cannot help but to fall instantly in love with this. I love the white background, the warmth from the lighting, the beauty styling on Margot Robbie, and the red tweed two-piece suit. Very much indeed reminiscent of the Chanel No.5 campaign from the late 80s with Carole Bouquet,” voiced vogue28.
