Alessandro Michele means business as Valentino creative director. We got our unexpected first glimpse at the Italian designer’s vision for the iconic Italian fashion house in June, with the surprise unveiling of the Resort 2025 collection. Last month, during the Spring 2025 season of Paris Fashion Week, Michele staged his debut runway showcase as creative director and his first Valentino campaign imagery is here – for Resort 2025. Michele enlisted his long-time collaborator at Gucci to lens the campaign, with Glen Luchford commissioned to capture Valentino’s latest. Models Awèng Malou, Isadora Ribeiro, Sophie Dominique Gonzalez, Sung Young Lee, Vera Lemelehes, Harry Browse, and Savva Podolski roam the majestic Mignanelli Palace (the birthplace and headquarters of Valentino) throughout the rich and decadent series of campaign images.

“The video is GORGEOUS. It’s so Roma, opulent, rich, decadent, love love love! Glen Luchford and Alessandro Michele are a perfect duo. They never fail!” exclaimed carla56.
“Love this,” Gonzalo enthused.
Yet not everyone was so impressed. “Ugh, this looks like what moth balls smell like. Stuffy, dated, and been done to death over and over 700 times before,” complained forum member 90sFan.
“Loathed the vast majority of Alessandro Michele’s Gucci campaigns and judging by the look of this, it’ll be the same with his Valentino offerings. This whole maximalist concept just feels so dated in 2024, despite everything feeling very rich and regal here. Not for me,” voiced vogue28.
Kite commented: ” I will just unfortunately never be able to get on board with this aesthetic. It also just looks dated now, not old fashioned in terms of clothes, just a dated way of dressing!”
