Our fave fashion glossies, for their July 2024 magazine covers, have been hyping us up for the 2024 Paris Olympics (which are now in full swing). Magazines like Vogue Australia and Vogue Greece have been throwing support and championing the Olympic hopefuls from their respective countries (some magazines coming out on top and others not so much). On the opposite end of the scale, British Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue Korea and ELLE France ditched the theme of sport and served pure unapologetic fash-ON.
Scroll further to see which July 2024 magazine covers made the cut (and which flopped) this month, all in accordance to theFashionSpot’s unfiltered forum members:
HIT | Vogue Czechoslovakia with Ashley Graham by Luka Booth
“I do like these covers. Not only is the first harking back to the Horst P. Horst shot, but it also looks like she’s carved from marble, while the second feels softer and romantic.” [tigerrouge]
HIT | Harper’s Bazaar Australia & New Zealand with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley by Darren McDonald
“Miles ahead of what Vogue Australia delivered this month. Always been a one for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, will never tire at the sight of her, so this feels like a total win for me. Throw in Paris (including all the clichés), the Hôtel Plaza Athénée, an overload of Saint Laurent… I’m sold.” [vogue28]
MISS | Madame Figaro with Naomi Campbell by Joseph Degbadjo
“Instead of a Chanel logo on the belt, it should have been a Photoshop logo!” [DK92]
MISS | UK Vogue with Mona Touggard & Central Cee by Alasdair McLellan
“British Vogue‘s overs pairing a model with a musician used to be so fun during Alexandra Shulman’s reign. This is just depressing.” [mikel]
HIT | Vogue Korea with Mona Tougaard by Sean + Seng
“A massive fan of all three covers, and when compared to Mona Tougaard’s recent cover of British Vogue, this is definitely a sight for sore eyes. I love how each of the covers is a celebration for Tougaard and how just straight-up gorgeous they are. Love the art direction and the cover line…” [vogue28]
MISS | Harper’s Bazaar Spain with Eva Herzigova by Xavi Gordo
“Honestly, they failed miserably.” [GivenchyAddict]
HIT | Vogue Germany with Margot Friedländer by Mark Peckmezian
“For once, Vogue Germany produces something worthy of attention.” [Royal-Galliano]
HIT | WSJ. Magazine with Angelina Kendall by Théo de Gueltzl
““The cover is so beautiful. It should have been the print cover, not digital.” [MModa]
MISS | Vogue Italia with Bad Bunny by Rafael Pavarotti
“So insufferable. Get these men out of Vogue please!” [MDNA]
HIT | Vogue Taiwan with Nymphia Wind by Manbo Key & Chien-Wen Lin
“Vogue Taiwan has shown the Western editions of Vogue how to do drag but keep it high fashion.” [Urban Stylin]
HIT | UK Harper’s Bazaar with Sienna Miller by Emma Summerton
“I love everything. The colors are perfect.” [VanillaCrush]
HIT | ELLE France with Cindy Bruna by Cameron Hammond
“Healthy, beautiful, sporty, sexy, aspirational and full of sunshine.” [TomBlanksFullFatMiuMiu]
HIT | Vogue Philippines with Hidilyn Diaz by Mark Nicdao
“FINALLY! One, ONE edition understood the assignment. A glorious, powerful and sporty Vogue cover!” [Bertrando3]
HIT | Harper’s Bazaar Arabia with Huda Kattan by Desiree Mattsson
“Absolutely love this. I love the red, the gloss, the sense of OTT glamour, the styling, the sense of fun and how graphic ALL of the covers are. This is what Allure needs to strive for, IMO!” [vogue28]
HIT | Vogue Netherlands with Heather Kemesky & Imre van Opstal by Cass Bird
“Already thrilled when I read ‘Heather Kemesky’ [in the thread title] but this goes beyond my expectations. Lovely.” [penny609]
MISS | Vogue Spain with Karol G by Micaiah Carter
“These people are getting paid for this?” [Creative]
MISS | Vogue Australia with Team Australia by Charles Dennington
“This is so lazy it’s downright disrespectful.” [MyNameIs ]
MISS | Vogue China with Zhou Xun by Zhong Lin
“Not impressed with the photography here whatsoever, and the attempt to create something unique with the composition of the cover flopped hard.” [vogue28]
HIT | Vogue Greece with Team Greece by Richard Phibbs
“Love all the covers! They are athletes yet still look like models. They also own that aesthetic so I ain’t mad.” [Urban Stylin]
HIT | T Magazine China with Xiao Wen Ju by Liu Song
“Xiao Wen Ju is a true model. Great job on these covers.” [Bertrando3]
MISS | UK ELLE with Jodie Comer by Cass Bird
“We all know Jodie Comer is capable of delivering fantastic cover imagery (British Vogue, Vogue Spain, UK Harper’s Bazaar and InStyle to name a few) but this ain’t it. Amateur photography and equally as banal styling. A non-event and feels like something more suit to what Porter currently churns out.” [vogue28]
MISS | The Sunday Times Style with Cara Delevingne by Jorin Koers
“What a fantastic way to model and to show off the coat to its best advantage! It’s truly stunning, great modeling skills. IRONY LEVEL 3000…” [Bertrando3]
MISS | Vogue Scandinavia with Rebecca Ferguson by Marcus Ohlsson
“This is so corny. ‘The Big Catch’ cover line and Rebecca Ferguson’s face under the net. Embarrassing.” [avonlea002]
HIT | Vogue Japan with Angelina Jolie by Takuya Uchiyama
“It’s a nice cover. Good colors, good styling,” [Alquimista]
HIT | Vogue Turkey with Anja Rubik by Chris Colls
“Anja does her thing, and it hardly ever goes wrong. I can’t help but enjoy this.” [aracic]
HIT | Vogue Portugal with Adit Priscilla by Marsha Evon
“Best sports covers that we’re probably going to see, I find the curves/colors of the first one something I want to keep going back to look at again.” [tigerrouge]
