There are certain things every working model strives for, like walking her very first runway, landing the cover of Vogue and becoming the face of a major fashion brand. Gigi Hadid, of course, has many lucrative achievements under her belt but has only just become the face of Prada. Earlier this week, rumors began to swirl on our forums that one of 2018’s most-followed of models had scored the blue-chip campaign this season — and it’s now confirmed as Prada unveils its minimalist Spring 2019 campaign. Photographed by Willy Vanderperre and styled by Olivier Rizzo, Gigi is joined by fellow models Anok Yai, Liu Wen, Freja Beha Erichsen and Maike Inga, who each pose separately in a series of ads.
Call our forum members… surprised. “I like it… clean and shows off the collection! Gigi actually looks high-fashion but my fav is Liu Wen!” shared Zposen.
“See. This is why I said Gigi is an Instamodel whose beauty could somehow fit the aesthetic of Prada and it did! I love her shot out of all girls in the group,” admitted xandroh.
Marc10 felt the same way: “Funny enough, Gigi’s shot is the strongest!”

“My jaw dropped when I saw Gigi for Prada, but she doesn’t look any better or any worse than the other models. The campaign itself isn’t very imaginative, so I’m unsure if they hired Gigi to produce some kind of buzz around it or if Miuccia actually likes her,” Elite13 chimed in.
The campaign ultimately wasn’t for everyone. “Another miss for Prada. Does it have to be Vanderperre season after season? Is it a contract?” asked Scotty.
“Extremely basic, lazy and boring concept. What a shame! The Spring 2019 collection is one of my favorites in years,” sighed guimon.
“Willy sucks the life out of all his images. So sterile,” complained bluebanter.
Forum member Ed wasn’t too thrilled either. “Can’t believe I’m saying this in 2019 but Willy Vanderperre is as bad photographer as Giampaolo Sgura,” he stated.
