UK Vogue July 2018 : Ariana Grande by Craig McDean

Ariana Grande Is Totally Unrecognizable on British Vogue’s July Issue

Now with several issues under his belt, Edward Enninful continues to make his mark on British Vogue. He recently delivered a whole lot of diversity and gave Cara Delevingne her first sitting with master fashion photographer Steven Meisel. Enninful now gives up the July 2018 cover to Ariana Grande, who makes her debut as a Vogue cover girl, photographed by Craig McDean. Ariana wears a black lace Chanel dress, styled by Kate Phelan, in the newsstand cover (below) and serves good face in the special subscribers cover (after the jump).

Members of our forums weren’t exactly smitten with the covers. “What the hell, Ariana getting a big four cover already? She looks awful, I thought it was Adwoa [Aboah] in a new wig,” called out MDNA the second the cover struck.

“If I didn’t know it was Ariana from the text I genuinely wouldn’t have been able to work out who it was,” honeycombchild wrote.

“I don’t listen to her music, or know much about her, but this is the worst I have EVER seen her look. She looks washed out! What a terrible cover, especially for it to be your first Vogue cover!! If McDean can’t do you justice…?” Miss Dalloway slammed.

333101 also thought Arian looked unrecognizable. “Had no idea it was her until I read the caption when I saw the newsstand cover – think it’s the first time I’ve seen her with her hair down!” she said. “Not a fan, its just so washed out and beige. The subscribers cover is far better!”

Also showing the subs cover some love was forum member dodencebt: “The subscribers cover is absolutely beautiful.”

“The subscribers cover is better than the actual cover. The newsstands cover is not inviting at all. She looks tired and over it. It’s a pedestrian cover. It doesn’t even look like her,” echoed MON.
