Steven Meisel is on a roll this campaign season, having already shot Chloé, Marc Jacobs, Moschino, Versace and Zara. Since he’s everyone’s go-to photographer lately, we aren’t surprised to see him return to shoot Max Mara’s Spring 2018 collection. Out is Grace Elizabeth who was the face of the luxurious Italian fashion label last season, in favor of 16-year-old American beauty Cara Taylor. Styled by fashion powerhouse Carine Roitfeld, Cara fits the mold perfectly in the clean and crisp images, which take us back to the 90s.
Our forum members couldn’t have loved the campaign more. “I would have never taken Cara as a Meisel girl, but this shot is fantastic! Meisel has created a very distinct style for Max Mara. It looks accessible and expensive at the same time. It works!” GivenchyHomme approved at once.
“I don’t know why Meisel and Carine work so well for Max Mara, turning the simple into the solid. This is just beautiful. Much like the Faretta campaign. The models are of course young but the final execution is distinctly aimed at the mature woman. Love it!” said Benn98.

“So classic and it works so well! Cara looks amazing here. You can always rely on Max Mara to produce a good print campaign,” voiced 333101.
Creative liked what he was seeing too, adding, “This is so pretty. Max Mara is on a roll with their campaigns.”
“Cara is the best of the next gen girls for me, despite her youth. I do wish that Pat [McGrath] had vamped up the makeup a bit here but I dig the softer, dulcet tones of the image. Max Mara is one of the only campaigns I look forward to now season after season,” shared Fiercification.
“I absolutely love this. It’s not overambitious and works just 100%,” stated Royal-Galliano.
