Karl Lagerfeld usually gets his celebrity friends/muses to star in Chanel’s eyewear campaigns, with the likes of Cara Delevingne, Lottie Moss and Willow Smith starring in previous ads. However, for Fall 2017, the Kaiser throws us a complete curve ball by securing “real model” Luna Bijl as the face of Chanel’s new line of optical glasses and sunglasses. Complete with styling from former British Vogue fashion director Lucinda Chambers, Karl captured the Vogue Paris favorite in his signature black and white photography and the outcome is everything a fashion campaign should be.

Our forum members were in awe. “It’s been so long since we’ve seen a proper model for the eyewear campaign that I forgot how good it can look. Luna is perfection in each and every shot. And the clothes look stunning on her,” rejoiced Benn98.
“Stunning! Now if Karl can go back to real models for his mainline campaigns!!” exclaimed sixtdaily.
TaylorBinque agreed, saying, “Perfect proof that a good model can elevate a campaign and the products. This is way better than the recent main campaigns.”
“Beautiful. I’m glad to see a talented model for once and not the overrated daughter of a rich person,” forum member liaa appreciated.
Bluestar also loved the choice of model: “Luna looks freakin’ beautiful! So happy she got this campaign!”
“Luna’s beauty is just on another level,” stated Creative.
“So Karl, please explain why you booked Cara and Lily-Rose for your main campaign?” snarked anlabe32.
