The campaign seemed to leave our forum members divided in their opinions, however. “Tragedy continues,” stated Scotty the moment the images came to light, suggesting he wasn’t a fan of Michele’s take on Gucci.

“If you switched the thread title to Dolce & Gabbana I wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference. What was the justification for firing Frida [Giannini]?? She wasn’t selling enough clothes? How is the new designer selling clothes??” asked a dumbfounded jj36.

Also not buying it was liberty33r1b, replying, “That’s what I keep asking myself. Who’s buying those horrid clothes?? You’re gonna look like a complete idiot in them!”

Vitamine W wasn’t into it, either. “The idea could have been great but this is one of the worst technically executed photographs I have seen in a while. There’s absolutely no depth, light seems to come from every possible angle. Half of the plants look dead or comatose. The amateur Photoshop on the bag, etc etc. Shame on you Glen,” he scolded.

But not everyone was left so dissatisfied with the outcome. “I love it! There’s always such a beautiful notion of storytelling with Alessandro’s clothes and campaigns, this one is no different. Looks like it could be a still from a movie or an old painting, the composition is great. Makes you intrigued to know more about the people in it. Like the Lisbeth Salander-looking girl, did her parents force her to spend a summer vacation with her little sister and her fabulous grandma in the countryside?” questioned a delighted Marc10.

“I love the whole concept and the outdoor shots are just gorgeous,” shared Nomar, in the same frame of mind.
