Bertrando3 made his point very clear from the start: “It looks ridiculous! OMG! And YES it does remind me of that US Vogue cover with Kim and Kanye, I meannnnnnnn… It’s like Spanish Vogue is trying to copy US Vogue but as always they copy what’s not supposed to be copied. And again Testino … I really don’t like his photos nowadays: way too much retouching,” he commented.
“Well, if the objective is to appear in the all word tabloids, it’s a good option. It’s like the Kim Kardashian cover in Vogue US. But I love this couple,” wrote dina19.
Darling Myy simply didn’t understand the whole couple-cover thing: “It kind of looks like Cristiano is just photoshopped there. I will never understand why couple covers never manage to convey any feeling of attraction / coupleness. Couples end up looking like two people who have never met each other before are told to look like they’re in love. Or at least somewhat attracted to each other.”
Although, as usual, not every forum member was in the same frame of mind. Miss Dalloway actually liked the cover and posted, “This is the best I’ve ever seen him look, usually I find him terribly unattractive. Testino did a good job.”
“This looks like a real life painting! Mario did a great job! Can’t wait to see the full ed and see what Carlyne did with them!” enthused miguelalmeida, who was also optimistic.
To accompany the cover’s release, there is also a behind-the-scenes video which can be viewed within the thread here.
