Though the idea of an exhibition sounds great, what’s most exciting is the fact that sixteen of the featured designs, including Lagerfeld’s Spring 1983 violin dress, McCartney’s Spring 2001 pineapple t-shirt, and Philo’s Spring 2005 Paddington bag, will be reworked and sold in Chloé’s flagship stores.
Chloé has had its highs and lows over the years, but the high points really soared, and the brand served as a great launching pad for talented designers like McCartney and Philo; it’s nice that their contributions will be recognized. So, start squirreling away your extra cash to save up for one (or more) of the iconic pieces that you missed out on the first time around.
