IMDB’s description of Burt Wonderstone‘s storyline doesn’t shed a whole lot of light on the project or Olivia’s involvement, but in case you’re interested, here’s the info:
“After breaking up with his longtime stage partner, a famous but jaded Vegas magician fights for relevance when a new, ‘hip’ street magician appears on the scene.”Err, ok. I’ll wait for the trailer before I make any judgements, but whatever her role entails, she showed off her new look at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala on Saturday, where she wore a Monique Lhuillier dress with Cartier jewelry. Forum members were big fans of Olivia’s newly cropped hair, but I think it’s safe to say she looks good no matter how her hair is styled.
“With that face… she could shave her head and still be a knockout. Love the bob,” newprincesita posted.
North wrote, “Her short hair is so refreshing!”
Alvedansen thought the whole look was worth applauding. “She looks great. I love the dress on her, the back is especially gorgeous,” she commented.
I have to agree that Olivia looks great. I know actors and actresses often have to go through transformations to embody a character, and these transformations can be totally extreme and unattractive (the more weird the more Oscar-worthy), but the fact that Olivia looks good here probably means she won’t be winning any awards for this role. She still comes out on top though. She has a cool new haircut and she gets to hang out with Steve Carell, Jim Carrey, and Steve Buscemi while filming. Seems like a win-win to me.
