Ariana Grande brought timeless elegance to the Golden Globe Awards 2025 red carpet. The singer looked ethereal in an archival gown as she posed for photographs. Collaborating with her longtime stylist Mimi Cuttrell, Grande’s gown was nearly six decades old and is an “unworn” piece. She also gave “Wicked” character Glinda a subtle nod through the ensemble while seeking inspiration from the novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” The star’s attire was every bit as magical as her glam, which even included some sparkly diamonds.
Ariana Grande stuns in vintage Givenchy dress at Golden Globe Awards 2025
Ariana Grande weaved some of her “Wicked” magic into her Golden Globe Awards 2025 red carpet appearance. She made a striking entrance at the event to celebrate her first nomination by wearing a showstopping ensemble from Givenchy’s Haute Couture Spring Summer 1966 collection. According to W Magazine, Grande and Mimi Cuttrell sourced the outfit from vintage dealer Lily et Cie. The gown will surely remain a treasured memory for the singer, given how no one before Grande had worn it.
The L.A.-based store revealed that the archival butter yellow Givenchy gown was “unworn.” They further said, “It still had the original mode depose seal in place on the dress.” The floor-length piece featured an intricately embroidered and beaded bodice that flowed into a plain column skirt. Moreover, the subtle tiers also contributed to the ensemble’s textural vibe. Grande’s fondness for bows continued in this design as well. This time around, a statement bow at the back rounded off the red carpet look.
Grande paired the strapless gown with white opera gloves and butter yellow pointed-toe pumps. To add to the archival ensemble’s elegance, the singer accessorized with some Swarovski jewels, including a glittery choker and stud drop earrings. In an interview with Variety, Grande revealed that she and her stylist Cuttrell were “excited” when they found the Givenchy gown.
Moreover, Ariana Grande didn’t forget to honor her “Wicked” character, Glinda, with her outfit. She told Variety at the Golden Globe Awards 2025, “It’s yellow because follow the yellow brick road. And it’s one of Glinda’s favorite colors.” This doesn’t come as a surprise given how Grande has followed themed dressing throughout the film’s press tour.
Meanwhile, makeup artist Michael Anthony gave the star glam befitting of the archival elegance, including pale yellow eyeshadow, lashes, and a mauve lip. Hairstylist Gabor Kerekes styled the “Wicked” star with a sleek ponytail with short side bangs.
