Chanel Taps Lupita Nyong’o as Its Newest Brand Ambassador

Chanel recently made Lupita Nyong’o its newest brand ambassador. The news came after the actor made a stunning appearance at the French luxury brand’s Womenswear Spring-Summer 2025 collection show on the last day of Paris Fashion Week.

Lupita Nyong’o has shown her love for the luxury brand for several years now. She has often donned Chanel numbers for her red carpet and event appearances. The Oscar-winning actor even attended Chanel’s Fall 2023 Haute Couture show in Paris. Last December, she stepped out at the prestigious Academy Museum Gala, wearing a Chanel gown in Los Angeles. Thus, the luxury brand naming Nyong’o as its latest brand ambassador feels inevitable.

Lupita Nyong’o is the latest brand ambassador of Chanel, and the news was exclusively confirmed by the French fashion house to WWD. The actor opened up about her new role for the French fashion house in an interview with the outlet, saying, “They [Chanel] were one of my first supporters.” She explained, “I remember wearing them as early as 2013 right when my first film, ’12 Years a Slave,’ came out.”

Nyong’o added that Chanel has invited her to their events over the years and “treated me with wonderful hands.” The Marvel star further showed her gratitude towards the brand by recalling how she had felt “very honored” when they approached her to be a brand ambassador. “Of course, this is an important brand, a legacy brand, a historical brand, and I’m happy and very proud to add to that legacy,” she expressed.

Besides her exquisite sense of fashion, Lupita Nyong’o has multiple acting credits to her name. She is notable for her outstanding performances in several movies, including “12 Years a Slave,” “Black Panther,” “Us,” and more. The 41-year-old has also done some voice acting, with the most famous roles being Maz Kanata in three “Star Wars” films and Raksha in the 2016 live-action adaptation of “The Jungle Book.”
