Lady Gaga channeled her “Joker” character Harley Quinn through her her outfit as well as her makeup. The star made a showstopping entry to the red carpet for the premiere of “Joker: Folie à Deux.” Embracing her role as Harley Quinn, she wore a bright red gown by Celine, pairing it with Tiffany & Co. diamonds. However, the detailed method makeup, including a matte blue eyeshadow, made her presence even more commanding.

Lady Gaga’s Joker premiere makeup, channeling her on-screen alter-ego Harley Quinn, became the talk of the town. While her Celine gown did resemble the character, it was the makeup that took it one step further. According to Marie Claire, makeup artist Sarah Tanno is to be credited for bringing the vision to life. Inspired by Lady Gaga’s makeup in the film as depicted in the trailer, the star’s premiere makeup featured the classic blue eyeshadow.
Furthermore, under the matte blue eyeshadow was a sharp cat eye, making the makeup more crisp while closely resembling Harley Quinn’s character. The highlight of the makeup, however, was when the makeup artist chose to smudge the eyeliner across the star’s lower lid underneath the right eye to form a crystal-embellished teardrop. Lady Gaga paid homage to her character naturally and elegantly, adding her twist to the mix.
The superstar did not stop there. She also underwent a hair change to resemble Harley Quinn’s character in the film. With the help of hairstylist and wig artist Frederic Aspiras, Lady Gaga donned a blunt bob hairstyle with a messy fringe in the front that scattered over the top of her bleached eyebrows. The star opted for a deep burgundy dye with dark black layers underneath. The bright red lipstick added the final touch to the overall ensemble and the signature Harley Quinn glam check.
Meanwhile, “Joker: Folie à Deux” will be released in cinemas in the U.S. and U.K. on Friday, October 4. Lady Gaga has also confirmed the release of a 13-track album titled “Harlequin” to accompany the movie release.
