Rihanna Pulls Off No-Pants Trend With a Sparkly Twist at NYFW

On September 6, Rihanna made heads turn at the Alaïa New York Fashion Week show. Not only did she flawlessly pull off the no-pants trend, but she also amplified the sparkle by pairing her thong corset with a custom crystal mesh dress. Moreover, Rihanna’s jewelry and footwear added to the shimmer, with the singer incorporating pearl detailing throughout the fit.

On Friday, Rihanna rocked a dazzling look at the Alaïa New York Fashion Week show. The “Diamonds” singer layered a glittering crystal mesh dress over her cream-colored thong corset, with beautiful pearls adorning the hemline of the custom piece. According to People Magazine, the custom mesh dress was a creation of the designer himself.

The off-the-shoulder corset top paired well with the mesh dress she slung off her shoulders like a robe. The Barbadian singer continued the pearl element with her choice of footwear, donning a pair of matching stiletto heels with lace adorned with dainty pearls. Similarly, she extended the bling to her jewelry pieces, opting for diamond drop earrings and a chunky diamond cuff bracelet to further elevate the look.

Rihanna kept her beauty choices minimal at the New York Fashion Week, styling her hair in gorgeous side-swept curls. She wore silver shimmery eyeshadow for eye makeup that tied her beauty choices with her outfit. However, her lip makeup was more minimalistic, with a simple yet stunning glossy plum lip look.

While Rihanna’s fit at New York Fashion Week made headlines, she also went viral for inviting Linda Evangelista to sit with her. In a clip, the “Work” singer offered the Canadian model to sit with her after noticing some people trampling her dress at the fashion show. Netizens found it heartwarming as the two shared a moment at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
