Subsequent to signing on the dotted line with Gucci as creative director in January 2023, Sabato De Sarno has remained one of the most talked-about designers. Prior to his appointment at Gucci, the Italian designer’s resume included stints at Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and a fourteen-year career at Valentino.
De Sarno presented his debut Gucci collection during the Spring 2024 season of Milan Fashion Week and luckily for us, directors Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost were on hand to document the build-up to the highly-anticipated “Gucci Ancora” collection. Narrated by actor and Gucci brand ambassador Paul Mescal, the Who is Sabato De Sarno? A Gucci Story documentary premiered on the film platform Mubi on March 15 and is now available for your immediate viewing pleasure via Gucci’s official YouTube channel. Needless to say, the 20-minute mini documentary is a total must-watch.
