Chrissy Amphlett’s ‘I Touch Myself’ movement has partnered with The Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) to launched a new campaign starring a bunch of Aussie musos, including the likes of Montaigne, Ngaiire and Abbe May.
The campaign, in collaboration with Berlie, has also launched The Chrissy Bra, just in time for International Breast Cancer Awareness month. Chrissy Amphlett of the Divynyls passed away from breast cancer in 2013, and The Chrissy Bra aims to remind women to try to identify any potential early signs of breast cancer on their own bodies each and every day.
Other musicians joining the campaign include Catherine Britt; Liz Drummond, Christa Hughes, Abbe May, Virginia Lillye, Katy Steele, and Hannah Field and Anna Hamilton of Little May, who have all been photographed for the campaign by Tony Mott.
“Each year, the lives of hundreds of thousands of men and women around the world are taken too soon by this devastating disease,” says Amphlett’s husband and co-founder of the ‘I Touch Myself’ project, Charley Drayton. “Chrissy’s music once changed the world, and through the latest incarnation of the I Touch Myself Project, we hope to help save lives.”
Berlie will donate 100 percent of profits from the limited edition Chrissy Bra to the BCNA, while the ‘I Touch Myself’ campaign is encouraging women (and men) to post a hand bra with the hashtags #MyHandBra and #ITouchMyselfProject on social media to share their support and get their friends involved.
You can get your hands on the Chrissy Bra at Berlie’s official website and find out more information at the I Touch Myself website.
