Exclusive: Brittany Beattie Talks Moving Out of Her Caravan and Her New Life as a ‘Role Model’

Even though the finale of Australia’s Next Top Model, which aired last night, was filmed late last year, winner Brittany Beattie only found out the results yesterday.

“We did two different endings and I didn’t know,” Brittany explains to theFashionSpot. Although runner-up Lucy Markovic‘s tears seemed very, very real when Brittany was announced as the winner in the chosen ending, Brittany believes it’s because “It was so stressful, the whole thing.”

Brittany celebrated her success in true self-proclaimed “bogan” fashion, at the local pub with her loved ones. “My family and friends all met up at the local pub and watched it there, so we had some drinks afterwards, it was good,” she says, although she admits she has a “hangover bad” this morning.

Considering she only just found out what the future has in store for her, including an 8-page ELLE Australia editorial and a contract with IMG Models, Brittany says her life since filming hasn’t changed all that much. She still lives in a caravan at her aunty’s house, and even continued bobcat driving for a little while.

“I did it [bobcat driving] for a little bit and then I didn’t because it sort of wrecks your body, your hands and stuff, and, yeah, not very good for being a model,” she explains. “It was a bit weird going back to my normal life, but I’m so excited for my life to start and just get into it.”

Now that she’s won the prestigious title, Brittany is “hoping to move closer into Melbourne city to make it easier,” adding that she’s keen to start looking at some places. She didn’t rule out a move to Sydney or overseas, either, saying, “If that’s where it takes me, that’s where I’ll go,” and that she wants to “conquer the world”.

Now that she’s made the transition from tradie to lady, Brittany tells us she’s getting more into the fashion and beauty side of life. “I’m getting into it more now,” she says. “I’m finding my way and seeing how I’d like to look, and thinking about how I want to look every day and stuff.”

Despite the overnight success, Brittany’s not about to forget where she came from. “I’ve had a lot of young girls, even boys, on Instagram that have been reaching out to me saying, ‘I’ve gone through the same things as you and I look up to you so much.’ I’m just like, ‘Oh, I’m so happy to have all the these people and be a role model.’ It’s really cool.”

Now that she’s won the title, she’s not overly interested in following footsteps of previous success stories like Montana Cox and Alice Burdeu. “I’m just ready to make my own story,” she reveals.

We bet it’s going to be a good one.
