BFC Fashion Trust Winners Announced

Fashion awards season is in full swing. Earlier this week, the CFDA held its annual Fashion Awards ceremony and now the British governing fashion body has announced the winners of its Fashion Trust competition. Nine designers have been chosen to receive financial backing to help grow their lines and there is a lot of major talent on the list.

Mother of Pearl, Sophia Webster, Sibling, Prism, Emilia Wickstead, Holly Fulton, Marios Schwab, Palmer//Harding and David Koma will all split a grant worth £300,000 (about $458,359). This crop of designers joins the ranks of past winners like Christopher Kane, House of Holland, Peter Pilotto, Mary Katrantzou, Roksanda Ilincic, Nicholas Kirkwood and more. At last night’s ceremonies, the BFC also announced the winners for its Graduate Traineeship Programme, giving fashion BA and MA grads the opportunity to work with a design house showing at London Fashion Week for a year.

“British fashion is recognised globally for its energy and inventiveness which is why we need to support the industry at grass roots,” BFC Fashion Trust co-chairs Tania Fares and Kim Hersov said. “The Fashion Trust will continue to support talented designer labels so that the UK can continue to build the brands of the future.”

All these winners definitely deserve the financial support and we can’t wait to see how each expands their line with this injection of cash.
