The Tony Awards are looking for an injection of glamour, and the show’s reportedly looking for Anna Wintour to administer it. The editrix has allegedly been tapped for an unpaid consulting gig with the award show to help make its red carpet even fancier.
According to Page Six, last year’s Tonys red carpet was such a hot mess that Ms. Wintour has been called to swoop in and help bring the affair to fashionable new heights. “Anna’s an unpaid, uncredited, top-secret consultant,” the source explained. “She’s going to spruce up the carpet, make it more special, which is something they’ve never had.” Considering that stage actors should know how to bring on the drama, last year’s Tony Awards fashions were a bit dull; the safe and sometimes questionable fashion choices seemed a little out of place.
Hopefully, Anna can turn the Tonys around for 2015 — we’ll just have to wait until June 7 to see her handiwork.
