Gucci Makes Last-Minute Changes to Menswear Collection

With the recent departure of creative director Frida Giannini, Gucci is scrambling to make some last-minute changes to its menswear collection, showing today in Milan. WWD reports that the label is making major modifications to its show, not only in the design, but also in the casting and the setup of the runway at the venue.

Gucci’s head accessories designer Alessandro Michele is stepping in to lead the team, which is reportedly responding well to his direction. A source tells WWD, “It’s as far from the former Gucci as possible. Very young, and a clean break with the past.” We wonder whether the women’s collection due to show in a few weeks will get the same overhaul.

We’ll definitely be taking a close look at Gucci’s latest.
