Mick and Keith. Mac and cheese. Whiskey and soda. Good collaborations are timeless, and when it comes to fashion, they can also create the kind of must-have item you won’t be able to live without. This spring, Smythe designers Andrea Lenczner and Christie Smythe have collaborated with Chloé and Parris Gordon of Beaufille on a smoking jacket design that combines the former’s masculine-heavy aesthetic with the latter’s artisan sensibilities.
The Beaufille Collaboration Smoking Jacket sees Smythe’s classic single-button shawl collar silhouette reinterpreted in a delicate and feminine custom jacquard fabric. The imagery on the fabric was hand painted by Eve Gordon, a fine artist and mother of Chloé and Parris, and is based on a vintage Chinoiserie brocade. The jacket will be available in a blush shade for Spring 2015, and because both parties were so pleased with the collaboration, it will also be carried through for Pre-Fall 2015 in Pacific Blue.
The Spring 2015 Beaufille Collaboration Smoking Jacket will be in stores in early February. For locations, visit smythelesvestes.com.
