Watch: the Making of Rag & Bone’s Fall 2014 Collection

Rag & Bone is hotly promoting its Fall 2014 collection, but instead of a traditional lookbook, designers David Neville and Marcus Wainwright have released a series of videos to give folks an interactive look at the latest collection. The latest is an almost 13-minute documentary, chronicling the making of the collection from production all the way up to the big show.

Directed by Vern Moen, the short provides a behind-the-scenes look at everything from production to the runway. Cameras take you into the Rag & Bone workroom, with the label’s design team fiddling with patterns, removing pockets from jackets and adding all the finishing touches to the range, which includes meticulously adding paint splatters (by hand) to jeans.

As with putting together any collection, there are a few hiccups and delays. At one point, Wainwright laments about some embroidered pieces that took more time than expected at the embroider’s, simply because so many designers were doing embroidery this season and the few locations in town were booked up with requests.

The hectic nature of backstage is also perfectly chronicled here. Amid what seems like a million cameras and microphones, models get primped while sipping beer backstage. Georgia May Jagger, one of the many high-profile models walking in the show, quips that she would miss her turn on the runway standing in line waiting for some beer. We can relate.
