H&M to Open a Sydney Store This October, But Not in the City

Well, there you have it. Melbourne isn’t the only one to have all the international fashion fun. Finally, H&M has its sights set on Sydney, but it won’t be smack-bang in the city like other big-gun retailers Topshop and Zara. In what seems like an unusual move for such a highly-anticipated store, H&M will set up shop in North Ryde’s newly-renovated Macquarie Shopping Centre.

According to Property Observer, stores like Uniqlo, Zara and Victoria’s Secret are also negotiating leases for this up-and-coming space. With a forecast that Macquarie Business Park will be Australia’s fourth-largest business centre by 2031, we don’t think the location of H&M’s new store will let expected sales figures down.

This will be Australia’s second H&M store, with the first opening in Melbourne’s GPO in April. If the first store is anything to go by, including affordable clothing, cosmetics and homewares in a beautifully structured building, Sydney’s in for a real treat.
