It always gives us a warm and fuzzy feeling when fashion people come together for charity, especially when it means that we can justify buying designer duds for a good cause. The CFDA and MyHabit have joined forces on a charity capsule sale, featuring products from more than 50 CFDA designers including Alexander Wang, Prabal Gurung, Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger and several others. Each has donated products to MyHabit which will go on sale for up to 60% off retail price.
“The CFDA Foundation has a long history of successful charitable initiatives; Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, Seventh on Sale, and Fashion for Haiti were all great examples of what we can do when the industry aligns for a good cause,” says Steven Kolb, Chief Executive Officer of the CFDA. “Giving back is at the heart of what we do and we are so appreciative of how generous our members have been to our request for participation. We are excited to announce our collaboration with MyHabit which will allow us to grow our efforts and raise funds all year-round.”
And you’re going to want to peep this sale, because the prices are good. A Botkier satchel, usually $395 is going for $159, a printed tee from Prabal Gurung is $125 (down from $250)and 3.1 Phillip Lim‘s camo printed 31 minute clutch is priced at $175, rather than its usual $350.
Basically, there is no excuse not to shop this sale–the prices are great, and you can say you’re making the world a better place, since at least 77% of the proceeds will go to the CFDA’s charitable initiatives. Now doesn’t that make you feel better about using your credit card to buy clothes again?
