Now that Miranda Kerr‘s single, she has her pick of wealthy suitors to choose from. This is clearly not an issue for Kerr, who is too busy shilling teacups at the moment, but it looks like her new relationship status is shaping up to be a problem for some of her gentleman callers. Particualrly, for 46-year-old Aussie billionaire James Packer, who allegedly began seeing Kerr since she split from Orlando Bloom. Packer was confronted outside his home by his billionaire comrade, David Gyngell, which quickly got heated, turning into an all-out melee between the two wealthy lads.
According to reports, Packer separated from his wife last year, and soon after began dating Kerr, which angered Gyngell, who paid Packer a visit at his Bondi apartment this Sunday to confront him. Apparently, Gyngell was none too pleased about the way Packer was treating his estranged wife, palling around with a supermodel and all. Words were exchanged, and a heated conversation evolved into a scuffle, with both Gyngell and Packer rolling around on the ground under the watchful lenses of paparazzi cameras.
Both Packer and Gyngell were fined $500 (that’s £280) by authorities for “offensive behavior,” although Gyngell takes full responsibility for the brawl. “He fully accepts that he was the instigator of the incident,” a spokesperson for Gyngell told the Daily Mail. “Clearly, had he not turned up at Packer’s premises in an angry mood, then the confrontation would never have occurred.”
As for Packer and Gyngell, the two are still friends in spite of the incident: “We have been friends for 35 years and still are,” they said in a statement. “In that time we have had our fair share of ups and downs. We respect each other and neither of us will be commenting further.”
