Naomi Campbell to Release Three Books and a Fashion Line

You would think Naomi Campbell would have her hands pretty full already juggling a television show, humanitarian campaigning, as well as occasional modelling work, but she has somehow found time to work on three forthcoming books as well as news of a possible role in fashion design herself.

The 43-year-old British model entertained audiences at London Vogue Fashion Festival this past weekend in conversation with Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozzani and British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, regaling tales of her 25 years in fashion, as well as exciting plans for the future.

Speaking in front of the audience, Campbell revealed that she would be releasing two books with Taschen, as she said on Sunday, “One is a picture book and the other one is where I have written on little pictures of Christy [Turlington], Kate [Moss] and I,” during her Nineties supermodel heyday.

The third exciting publication is set to be an anthology of nude archive images “from like 15 years ago” taken by Paolo Riversi that will be released in a coffee table book soon. Not to forget the possibility of taking on design, having spent years with designers since starting out as a fit model for Azzedine Alaia, Naomi is certainly at ease with that side of the industry and feels ready to take on the challenge. As she told Shulman and Sozzani, “I used to think that if I started my own line then designers wouldn’t want me to work for them anymore, but now I feel different, and I will be doing that. Hopefully the first item will be out in 2015.”

There are likely few designers who would challenge Naomi with her reputation, but that aside, she is certainly an extremely driven philanthropist and creative and we are intrigued to see what her first collection will be like.
