The Chanel designer is known for his spectacular sets (for example: at his Pre-Fall collection in January, Lagerfeld created a Dallas rodeo and seated guests in parked cars, like at a drive-thru), but this season, more than ever, the elaborate setting dominated the show. Below, we try to wrap our minds around all the branded products stocking the Chanel supermarket shelves, the supermodel shoppers browsing its aisles — and yes, some of the fashions, too.
- Tweed Soda comes in eight flavors: Lemon, Orange, Tropical, Energy, Mint, Tea, Cola and Cola Light.
- I bet Chanel parsley never gets stuck in your teeth.
- The Chanel store even carries super chic carbs, branded with the house’s interlocking Cs logo.

- Those of you with a heart will be relieved to hear that none of this food will go to waste. The Times fashion editor Laura Craik reports that all edible produce will be donated to charity:
#Chanel supermarket update for those not busy looting the aisles:all edible produce will be given to a charity in Paris for redistribution.

- So now, a bit about the show. Cara Delevingne opened it.
- She also closed it.
-
Her buddy Rihanna attended and sat front row; girlfriend Michelle Rodriguez was reportedly also seated in the front row.
Here’s a photo of Rihanna, Delevingne and another Chanel model, Joan Smalls, riding around the set in shopping carts after the show:
- Up-and-coming model and Kardashian family member Kendall Jenner walked in the show, which either cements her status as a serious fashion model or was intended as commentary on the soulless consumer culture, depending on who you ask.

- In line with the growing flat shoe trend, the ultra-casual grocery store setting, and also the exquisite sneakers which appeared on the runway at Chanel’s Spring 2014 Couture show — the brand’s supermarket models wore gym shoes.
- We’re all about comfortable, sporty shoes, but perhaps these sneaker-boot mutants are questionable:
- Some models shopped the shelves as part of their runway walk.
- Jarrod Scott was the only male model to appear at the show. He and his runway partner were styled in the bougiest way possible and carried Chanel shopping bags.
- Other models carried Chanel shopping baskets with tags attached, a joke on the arbitrary nature of ‘the product.’ The idea has something in common with the luxe shopping bags Alexander Wang showed at Balenciaga.
- Lagerfeld also showed these unusual (by unusual, I mean ugly) totes x quilted bag hybrids.
- The Chanel Shopping Center carries an abundance of fresh quality goods.
- Perhaps these Chanel headphones are a play on last season‘s much-photographed giant ‘earphone’ pearls?
- Chanel created ‘dreads’ out of the label’s textiles. Perhaps this hair look was designed for the kind of person who would buy last season’s $3,400 broke art student-inspired canvas bricolage backpack?
