16 Sizzling Instagrams from the David Jones Summer 2013 Fashion Show

Last week, David Jones held its first fashion show subsequent to that juicy breakup with Miranda Kerr. Taking over the reins as runway queen was Perth-born stunner Jessica Gomes, who’s held the David Jones’ ambassador post since March, opening the show with a Willow bustier and birthday siblings Camilla and Marc Freeman. But though the event’s star power was considerably less than the previous year in light of the department store losing that household name, the bevy of upcoming Australian models (plus Kiwi Holly Rose Emery) on the runway provided plenty to get excited about: Montana Cox, Gabby Westbrook-Patrick and Maddison Brown to name a few.

Of course, the clothes were great too. As a summer showcase during winter warms the coldest of fashion hearts and makes us even more itchy for beach weather. Romance Was Born’s kaleidoscopic prints, Ginger & Smart’s summer suiting and Zimmermann’s 70s floral swimsuits were particularly enlivening. Ditto for the Camilla’s kaftan finale – never mind that Gomes almost tripped over one of the hems.
