With just one month to go until the season premiere of Gossip Girl, the anticipation has reaching its boiling point. Thankfully for those of us who need our TV fix, Project Runway and The Rachel Zoe Project are hitting the small screens with new seasons a smidgen sooner (was there life before Bravo!?).
While we’re guaranteed fashion designer cameos in both reality TV shows, two bigwigs were spotted on the set of the CW’s Gossip Girl set – Tory Burch and one half of the Marchesa design team, Georgina Chapman.
Chapman said that she is a big fan of the show (I always thought she had impeccable taste, nice to see it extends to her television choices!), and when you think about it, her appearance on the show comes as little surprise in the context of the plotline – Leighton Meester’s character, Blair, wore a Marchesa gown to her prom (though the label was never explicitly called out, she had been dreaming about the dress since childhood). Further, we suspect that Marchesa’s avant-garde meets princess frou frou aesthetic will fit in well with GG’s audience.
