There has been contention for months now between Esteban Cortazar, the young creative director at Emauel Ungaro (he replaced Peter Dundas who is now the head designer at Emilio Pucci), and the house’s CEO, Mounir Moufarrige. Mainly the two have been butting heads over marketing and advertising strategies. For example, Moufarrige reportedly at one point wanted to enlist Lindsay Lohan to be the face of the brand, and possibly even have some creative input. It was then reported that Cortazar was suing Ungaro. Now WWD broke the news that on mutually agreed upon terms, the two parties will be parting ways.
