On June 11th, Honey Magazine (honeymag.com), the new online iteration of Honey Magazine, feted their venture with a laid back celebration at their Soho offices in New York City.
While the event was taking place I ran into Sharon Carpenter’s PR rep who told me that the BET host was at the offices for a photo shoot for the online mag. When I finally got to meet Carpenter, she was decked out in svelte hot pants.
I wasn’t that familiar with the host, but learned from her rep that she hosts BET’s daily news briefs (she’s interviewed everyone from Oprah to “Star Wars” director George Lucas), and reports and produces for the network’s hard hitting specials. She has also made appearances on the entertainment show ‘106 & Park’.
Before completing her shoot, Carpenter, along with the other ladies at the event, headed to the back of the office space to get their Minx nails done
Minx nails have been getting a lot of attention as of late. They are a flexible film that is applied through heat and pressure to nails – it’s basically nail art. You can pretty much get any design imaginable put on your nails.
Among the noted manicurists on hand were Lisa Logan, who has done the nails of Beyonce, Charlize Theron, Eva Mendez, Anne Hathaway, Eve, Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs as well as designer Roberto Cavallli.
