Topshop is not only spending loads of money to draw attention to their new New York City flagship store, they are also giving back by supporting up-and-coming designers.
The British Fashion Council is accepting applications, from April 15 through May 1st at www.londonfashionweek.co.uk/newgen , for its New Generation sponsorship scheme. Any designer who has been in the fashion business for less than three years can apply for financial aid to put on a catwalk show during London Fashion Week in September. The September Fashion Week shows will be the first to be held at Somerset House.
The New Generation sponsorship scheme was set up in 1993 and applicants are evaluated and chosen by a select panel of fashion industry insiders. Caroline Rush, who along with Simon Word is the executive of the British Fashion Council, noted that “New Gen has a reputation for showcasing the world’s most innovative and exciting new talents.”
