Watch: Kristen Stewart Captivates in Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Campaign Video

Chanel’s sultry campaign video for its Métiers d’Art Pre-Fall 2016 collection, entitled Paris in Rome, hit the web yesterday. Its star, Kristen Stewart, does not look nearly as enthused as we would be, were we sporting arguably the best Desrues hoop earrings on the planet. As she ambles around her Paris apartment, gazing broodingly into her vanity, removing an unseen smudge from her perfectly stained dark lips, fussing with a new version of the label’s 2.55 calfskin bag, Gil Scott-Heron’s voice sings a soulful rendition of Drake and Rihanna’s I’ll Take Care of You.

The French fashion house’s latest Métiers d’Art collection was inspired by designer Karl Lagerfeld’s love of film, which certainly comes across in the stylized black and white promotional shorts. The collection originally showed in Rome’s legendary Cinecittà film studios, preceded by a screening of another Lagerfeld-devised flick, Once and Forever, again starring Kristen Stewart, this time as founder Coco Chanel, not “anonymous brooding Parisian babe.”

The awards for best supporting accouterments go to the aforementioned earrings and chain-strap bag, the classic Chanel tweed Kristen rocks sans under layer, her (emphasis on the) button-down lace blouse and, last but not least, that body-conscious, belted, boat neck knit dress.

We’d also like to shout out KStew’s makeup artist — we will most definitely be attempting gothic lips and heavy eyeliner presently, humidity be damned.
