This fall’s next major designer/fast fashion collaboration was just announced on the Billboard Music Awards red carpet. Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing just let the world know that the French fashion house is teaming up with Swedish retailer H&M for a collection.
With Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn in tow, Rousteing explained that their looks, which we would have otherwise guessed were true blue Balmain, were from the forthcoming collaboration with the retailer. And from the looks of this preview, it’s going to be good. Jenner was clad in a pair of black pants and over-the-knee boots with a pearl-encrusted black jacket, clearly a less-expensive version of the black tuxedo jackets the house offered for Fall 2012. On Dunn (also in tall boots), a navy blue top with sheer panels and thicker bands, embellished with gold hardware, similar to what we saw for Fall 2014. She completed the look with one of the wraparound tulip skirts we saw for the house’s Fall 2013 collection and a thick gold metal belt.
So far, it seems as if the collection will have a lot of less expensive versions of past Balmain pieces. And considering that the few looks we’ve seen already look so much like real-life Balmain, we have a feeling folks are going to go wild for this collab.

Rousteing has been vocal in the past about fast fashion retailers getting “inspired” by his work for Balmain, so it comes as little surprise that he would team up with one for a collection.
Brace yourselves for five and a half months of Balmainia for H&M.
