Meredith Vieira sat down with the supermodel to discuss the new crop of supers — the Instagirls — many of whom have gained popularity through their social media presence. Naomi provided her analysis on the phenomena, and as you may have imagined, she’s not necessarily here for these new It girls.
Naomi noted that she and her generation of supermodel sistren had to “earn our stripes” to get that “super” title. But though she said she’s astonished by how easily supermodeldom is coming to this younger group of girls, she is thankful for having to take a bit of a rockier path to get to where she is today. “Sometimes, it’s easy come, easy go. So, I’m actually grateful for the way I’ve had my career. I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
