The Canadian-born designer moved to London to attend the Royal College of Art, before working in the design studios of fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg in New York upon graduation. He later returned to the UK to launch his eponymous label in 2005, which is now known for its modern, feminine designs and vibrant, custom-designed prints.
This BFA prize is the second consecutive victory for Moralioglu — having won the New Establishment Award at last year’s awards ceremony — but with a star-studded following that ranges from Kate Middleton (she famously wore an Erdem shift as she showed off her bump at a primary school) to Claudia Schiffer, the only way is up for this talented expat.
