Celebrities along with models photographing themselves for covers and campaigns is clearly all the rage. For example Kendall Jenner stepped behind the lens for Burberry’s Summer 2020 campaign. Then Anja Rubik also captured herself for Vogue Poland. Now Rihanna turns photographer as she shoots and styles herself for Vogue Italia’s June 2021 covers. The superstar poses for two covers wearing looks from Valentino’s Fall 2021 collection.
Nevertheless, our forum members are certainly not happy. “You have Rihanna and you do this?” asks dodencebt.
“Rihanna doing something bad? I wasn’t expecting that,” admits an obviously surprised JPineapple.
“This is probably the worst Rihanna cover I’ve ever seen and that’s a damn shame because she photographs so beautifully. The bar just keeps on lowering with Vogue Italia,” notes a decidedly disappointed marsnoop2.

“Rihanna photographing herself for the cover of Vogue might have been heralded as a triumph and a total success during the height of the pandemic, but feels like a total gimmick by now,” proclaims vogue28.
“This is the fugliest and the gimmickiest thing I have ever seen Vogue do,” remarks an absolutely annoyed dontbeadrag.
“I expected the worst and Vogue Italia did not disappoint,” declares an evidently frustrated crmsnsnwflks.
“This is literally so ugly that I pity everyone involved,” aracic chimed in.
VogueGirl8910 is certainly not impressed. “I think that these covers are Rihanna’s worst photos of her career…”
