Vogue Japan Opts for Another Multi-Model Cover for June 2020

We have always been down for a good ol’ Vogue Japan x Luigi & Iango moment. But the duo’s multi-girl covers for the Japanese fashion bible often fall flat. This year’s March cover was disappointing, last year’s September offering wasn’t much better and not even the likes of Irina Shayk and Imaan Hammam could have saved March 2019. The Japanese title’s latest sees an influx of fresh-faced beauties for June 2020 with models Abby Champion, Bente Oort, Mika Schneider, Shanelle Nyasiase and Hannah Motler each wearing looks from Prada’s Spring 2020 collection (courtesy of Anna Dello Russo) before Luigi & Iango’s lens.

Once again, members of our forums weren’t jumping for joy. “I cannot tell the difference between all the other group cover shots,” said dontbeadrag the moment the cover dropped.

“This cover is bland: just like the styling and the girls. Nothing stands out, it’s not bad, it’s just flat, boring and nothing is impressive. NEXT!” declared Bertrando3.

“I want to like this, but I just can’t. Love the models and the styling, but the posing and composition has it feeling flat,” echoed kenndale.

Forum member vogue28 wasn’t a fan: “Everything from the random model selection to the colors, I find weak and disappointing. Perhaps I have come to expect a great deal from Luigi & Iango, but this simply doesn’t cut it for me and can safely say I haven’t liked a single Vogue Japan x Luigi & Iango cover throughout 2020 so far!”

“I’m also always here for Luigi & Iango in Vogue Japan! Is it their best cover? No. But it still looks fresh and it’s a nice selection of new models,” appreciated aracic.

“Beautiful cover. For me Vogue Japan is one of the best editions at the moment,” avonlea002 disagreed.
