For weeks our forums have been ablaze with speculation about Vogue‘s next cover star. Names like Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep were thrown around, but Anna Wintour throws us a curveball once again. In an unexpected move, the mag opts for Ariana Grande (along with her cute canine companion Toulouse). The singer was shot in her hometown of Boca Raton for her debut on the American fashion bible, captured down at a local beach by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. Styled by Tonne Goodman, Ariana catches some rays in an oversized Eric Javits hat and a little black Christian Dior dress.
Following last month’s Margot Robbie offering, Ariana’s pales in comparison. “Hate this. It looks so cartoonish, the huge hat, the dog, the black look at the beach…like an old ‘eccentric’ rich woman. If they wanted to give her a fashion makeover, this was not it,” voiced Marc10.
“I cringed hard when I read her name next to U.S. Vogue, and I certainly did not expect it. It’s not a bad cover at all, but I seriously don’t understand how Givenchy didn’t secure the cover given that she is their upcoming brand ambassador. And the dog is very much Photoshopped on her lap. Classic Annie,” laughed dodencebt.

“Don’t like her pose. She looks uncomfortable, like she’s straining to get the right angle,” said liv4beauty.
“That is one of the worst images I’ve seen grace the cover. What on earth happened? It all looks so fake…poor Ariana. She can photograph much better than this for sure!” proclaimed honeycombchild.
Miss Dalloway was also left dumbfounded: “Thanks for the laugh.”
Benn98 wasn’t much of an admirer, either. “I looked at it a few times and every time I want to say it’s awful because of the hat, but that’s not all. There’s the pose, the dog, the styling, the color rendering. This is like Zendaya’s cover all over again. Surprised to see Annie agreed to shoot this.”
“Pure trash. Thank you, next,” mocked MDNA.
