We forgot about fashion for a brief moment this week, with politics being everyone’s main focus of discussion. Amid the race for the presidency, our forums half-expected to see Hillary Clinton on the cover of American Vogue (because it wouldn’t have been the first time). However, Anna Wintour had someone else in her sights for December. To round off the week on a positive note, behold the magazine’s beautiful new cover featuring the world’s favorite first lady, Michelle Obama. Giving us true grace, style and effortless beauty, Michelle was photographed by master photographer Annie Leibovitz on location at the White House. Michelle looks like a goddess in a dreamy white Carolina Herrera dress — and it should come as no surprise that our forum members are left in sheer awe.

“What a beautiful cover to close the year, AND her time in the White House. The editorial is just stunning, she looks like a movie star! I will miss her intelligence, style and grace!” cheered a delighted Miss Dalloway the moment the cover struck.
“I knew it. It’s a gorgeous cover, I am so going to miss Michelle,” Scotty sighed in admiration.
Also quick to show their approval was dodencebt, applauding, “Looks like Vogue is on a roll this fall, beginning with the Lupita [Nyong’o] cover. Very natural, very beautiful – Michelle looks like a classic movie star indeed! Plus,I love that they showed her in a more sensual light on both the cover and in the editorial. It’s a fantastic end to those eight years as First Lady.”
Melancholybaby felt the same way. “So much better than her two previous covers and editorials, this one is even sort of sexy. Her presence will definitely be missed,” he expressed.
“I love this extremely smart woman! Beautiful cover and editorial. Gonna miss her a lot,” echoed thiago.
“Honestly, it’s such a bittersweet cover. It’s beautiful and the perfect way to close the year with this extraordinary woman, but it’s really hard to GET HAPPY! also knowing it’s the end of this era and the beginning of… that,” Marc10 pointed out in reflection.
