The theme for the makeup, led by Francois Nars himself, was New York party girl – delightfully grungy and disheveled with an air of posh.
“I love the sixties. They’re still incredibly modern,” Nars said. “She’s a typical Marc girl…very New York City, very chic, very interesting.”
The slightest flick of a winged line and contouring in the crease (with Mambo Eyeliner Pencil) set the stage for lashes, lashes, lashes. Nars layered Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara, blacker than the darkened brows and individually separated. Sheer Glow Foundation and Radiant Creamy Concealer, new for Spring 2013, were used on the face.
As for hair Redken lead stylist Guido Palau created the deep side part, side-swept wispy bang and conical-inspired slight bouffant. The look was light and mussed, but also very put together. Redken Guts was used before hair was back dried, and Dry Shampoo created a matte texture. Quick Tease was used to tease the roots and give lift. Palau pointed out he didn’t want to go too Amy Winehouse with the look, just to make a more subtle version of the bouffant.
