Pink Out Your Pout: How to Perfect a Fuchsia Lip

The trend seems to be spreading like wildfire. Just last week we spotted Kendra Wilkinson rocking fuchsia lipstick on an episode of Dancing With the Stars, and a few days later, Emma Stone was posing for cameras wearing the same shade at Condé Nast Traveler’s Hot List party in Hollywood.

It’s safe to say we’re digging this color; it’s a fun, flirty alternative to the classic red lip, and it has the ability to change a drab-looking outfit into something more trendy and chic.  So where exactly should you start if you want to add a hot pink to your pout?

We really like Sephora’s Nano Lip Liner in Funky Fuchsia ($5) because it contains a small amount of shea butter, which helps lips stay hydrated. When you’ve colored in your whole lip, apply your lipstick with a lip brush, controlling where the color goes; avoid smudging in the wrong places. For a gorgeous, affordable fuchsia, try Milani’s Rose Hip lipstick ($4.99), which has great color payoff.

Blot any excess lipstick on a tissue, and then add an extra layer. To finish off, dab a small amount of concealer around the edge of your mouth to help prevent color bleeding.
