When you think of blue eye makeup, you probably flash back to the 80s and all its neon glory. The punchy color was seen on many peepers back in the day, usually teamed with equally colorful outfits. But the bold trend is making a comeback with many makeup artists feeling blue for Fall 2018, starting at New York Fashion Week and spreading to the other fashion capitals.
You don’t have to worry about looking like you’re trapped in a time warp, though. Blue eye makeup has received a modern-day makeover in the form of crisp underliner, deconstructed cat eyes and reimagined smoky eyes. Not every look will work IRL (we’re assuming you don’t have a stack of Swarovski crystals in your beauty arsenal) but many will easily translate off the catwalk.
Here are 17 of the best blue eye makeup looks courtesy of the Fall 2018 runways.
