We love cheap makeup — especially when it comes recommended by top beauty bloggers. Drugstore brands are our unabashed go-to when we need some lipstick, blush or help defining our brows. So when we got word back in May that drugstore powerhouse L’Oréal Paris was teaming with opulent fashion house to the stars Balmain on a luxe lipstick line, we were pretty jazzed.
And now (finally!), we’ve been given a sneak peek of the lipstick shades. Presented in “tribes,” the three categories boast everything from neutrals to look-at-me hues of deep purple and rich coffee-colored brown. That coffee color (aka Power) is in the Tribe Rock family, where you’ll also find a gray shade called Legend, a blue coined Rebellion and what’s being called a purple star shade known as Freedom.

Tribe Couture was obviously made for the runway with shades like Domination (a true red), Liberation (a moody purple), Confession (a cheeky coral) and Confidence (because no makeup collab is complete without a rose gold option).
Tribe Glamazone features perhaps the most interesting pigments, especially its kaki star shade dubbed Balmain Instinct. Also included in this set is a perfect-for-fall orange known as Fever, a neutral beige titled Urban Safari and a medium brown called Glamazone.
We don’t have an exact release date or a price point, we just know they’ll come out sometime in September. But we’re betting we’ll at least see members of the couture tribe on the pouts of the Balmain models as they hit the runway over in Paris.
