Watch Misty Copeland Do Her Beauty Routine While Performing Ridiculously Cool Ballerina Moves (Video)

Yesterday, the pioneering Misty Copeland announced yet another career coup. The first African American female principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre is now the face of Estée Lauder’s Modern Muse perfume. (Fitting, as she was once a muse to Prince.)

Generally, it’s supermodels and actresses who land such high profile, lucrative gigs. It’s refreshing to see a major cosmetics company branching out. “We see Misty as having the ability to connect to women,” Geri Schachner, a senior vice president for global communications at Estée Lauder, told the The New York Times. “It’s really about the fact that she is an inspiration, particularly to young girls. We want to connect with people who really see her as a role model — not just as a dancer, but as a woman.”

To celebrate her first beauty campaign, Glamour asked the Under Armour spokesmodel to show off both her ballerina and mascara wand-wielding skills — at the same damn time. In the resulting video, Copeland (who, fun fact, did her own hair and makeup for her Gregg Delman-lensed Rizzoli book) fluffs her lashes while on pointe and blots her lipstick with her knee during a standing split, NBD.

Watch as Copeland shares her “ballerina beauty hacks” in the clip below, and prepare to feel seriously inspired.
