Fifteen-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys “does what the fuck she wants” when it comes to her makeup and hair. And that’s one of the many reasons we love her. The 35-year-old singer, who last year caused quite a stir with her decision to (for the most part) go makeup-free, is now at the helm of another statement-making beauty movement. Namely, the neon hair trend (not to be confused with the rainbow hair or blorange hair trends).
On Saturday, Keys took to social media to share her new fluorescent orange, yellow and pink waist-length braids. The photos were, in a word, stunning. Somehow, Key’s highlighter-hued hair makes her already flawless skin appear all the more glowy and fresh. Needless to say, we’re totally here for the summer-perfect look.

Feeling the irrepressible urge to go neon? Remember, Keys’ bold plaits come courtesy of artificial, woven-in add-ons. Those with thinner strands must either subject themselves to bleach and months of fastidious conditioning or go the Kylie Jenner route and wig out. Still, the results seem pretty worth it.
