There, famed hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai himself was on hand to inspect the hair looks created by his team, led by stylist Paul Hanlon.
Fekkai’s crew created a rough, tousled half-twist with volume and wave to go along with the grungy, artsy-chic aesthetic of the Proenza S/S 2011 runway show.
Hanlon began by applying Fédéric Fekkai Coiff Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray heavily throughout the hair from roots to ends to create texture and fullness.
Using a diffuser, he finger-combed the hair dry. Hanlon then loosely gathered and tucked the top half of the hair into a French twist at the nape of the neck, leaving a few long layers of hair free.
He left the ends out of the twist and sprayed Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray all over to obtain a modern style. Bedhead at its finest!
For make-up, MAC Cosmetics, led by Diane Kendal, conceived an androgynous, lived-in look with square-ish boy brows. The brows were created using a pencil one shade darker than the models’ natural brow color.
The look was minimal, but strong. Kendal said, “The boys like the grungy look, which is why we worked with the discoloration under the eyes and used very little foundation and concealer.”
Kendal kept the face bare, with just a hint of shimmer on top of the cheeks, and used White Frost Pigment down the center of the nose.
Lip Erase Dim was applied around the edges of the lips. The lips were then brushed with foundation to finish the flawless, muted look.
