Throughout 2024, Sara Moonves has flexed her ability to secure a whole plethora of A-list talent for the covers of W Magazine. After all, Moonves has been able to call everyone from Margot Robbie and Beyoncé to Miley Cyrus and Hailey Bieber cover stars. Not to mention Volume #4 featured talents Hunter Schafer, Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, and Anna Sawai. Moonves’ latest accomplishment involves getting Rihanna to photograph partner ASAP Rocky for W Magazine Volume #5 2024, an issue dedicated to originals. In the cover shot captured by the Barbadian global sensation, the American rapper reclines in custom Loewe.

Also far from impressed was mepps. “I have never, and will never understand the appeal of ASAP Rocky. Never. Why is he on the cover of W Magazine, in celebration of ‘originals’?” they asked.
MModa commented: “With so many celebrities (if not models) that W Magazine could profile, this is a weird choice. Not a fan of the cover subject either.”
“Who’s asking for this?” questioned vogue28. “I’d much prefer to see Rihanna (on her lonesome) on the cover of W Magazine, not Rihanna photographing ASAP Rocky, who I genuinely couldn’t care less about. This feels like a total non-event and a massive WASTE.”
