Forum Members Review the ‘Immaculate & Chic’ Zara Stefano Pilati Collection

Earlier this month, news broke that Zara has tapped Stefano Pilati for a coed capsule collection of about 50 styles. Naturally, excitement began to mount. Today, our first look at the anticipated collection is here. The Zara Stefano Pilati collection consists of coats, blazers, suits, dresses, knitwear, trousers, and accessories – mostly in a black color palette. Prices range from $17.90 (for socks) and $399 (for a leather jacket). Mark your calendars for October 3, when the collection goes on sale worldwide.

Since 2017, Stefano Pilati has been the creative director of his own brand, Random Identities, based between Berlin and Milan. From 2004 until 2012, the celebrated Italian designer was the creative force behind Yves Saint Laurent – replacing Tom Ford. In late 2012, Pilati signed on the dotted line with Ermenegildo Zegna, was appointed the head of design and as Agnona creative director (and stepped down from his duties in 2016). More recently, in 2023, Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi selected Pilati to design a collection for Fendi Resort 2024.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“I LOVE this.” [TianCouture]

“This collaboration is miles better than those Uniqlo basic collaborations. Marta Ortega Pérez should definitely back Pilati up for his namesake label.” [JohannesL]

“The womenswear is flawless, so immaculate and chic. Always did adore Stefano Pilati’s Yves Saint Laurent, so I’m very much into this slight reincarnation. I’m obsessed with those high-neck and halter-neck looks, and the jumpsuit with the high empire waist and bow detailing.” [vogue28]

“A lot of it seems very directed at a fashion savvy crowd. Some ugly stuff, some questionable things but it’s a good collection. I’m tempted to buy a lot of stuff actually from both men and women.” [Lola701]

“I’ll be the devil’s advocate on this one. So much hyping or whatever Stefano Pilati is doing when constantly revisiting his previous collections for other brands to come up with this? Unless Pilati had any sort of guidelines, I’ve seen unassigned Zara collections on the rails looking better than this.” [WAVES]
